About the role#
This internship provides experience in Animal Nutrition R & D at Simmons Foods. You will work on real-world projects that impact the organization while building cross-functional relationships. The program balances project-based work with daily tasks to help you understand core processes. At the end of the summer, you will present your findings to the team and senior leadership.
What you'll do#
- Complete a project that addresses a specific departmental or facility challenge.
- Present your project outcomes to senior leaders and team members.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying waste and refining processes.
- Participate in team meetings and support the development of team concepts and policies.
- Maintain familiarity with Simmons operating systems, including quality and security standards.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support business objectives.
- Work on your feet for multiple hours and lift at least 10 pounds.
- Work in various temperatures and wear required personal protective equipment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree program in Business Administration, Agriculture, Nutrition, Biology, Environmental Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and general computer skills.
- Knowledge of business and management principles.
- A willingness to lead and take charge.
- Experience in manufacturing or poultry is preferred.
