About the role#
As a Business Data Analyst Intern, you will join the Data Analytics team to support decision-making processes. You will assist in collecting, processing, and analyzing business data to help the company identify new use cases and improve reporting. This is a paid, full-time, on-site role based in Aurora, Illinois.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with teams across the company to understand business needs and translate them into data insights.
- Build and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using AWS QuickSight.
- Present your findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Develop automated reporting processes to support self-service analytics.
- Perform exploratory data analysis to find patterns and trends within AWS-hosted datasets.
- Work with data engineers to define key performance indicators and build data models.
- Monitor data quality and track how often dashboards are used.
- Partner with the QuickSight Center of Excellence to follow data governance standards.
- Document your development work, including design notes and process flows.
- Participate in feedback sessions to discuss your contributions and growth.
What you'll need#
- Current Sophomore or Junior status in a Bachelor degree program for IT, data analytics, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of IT concepts and an interest in data analysis.
- Entry-level proficiency in SQL, AWS, or similar data analysis technologies.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools and frameworks.
- Exposure to AWS QuickSight or a similar platform.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to explain complex data clearly.
- Good communication skills to work effectively with different teams.
