About the role#
This is a part-time Pharmacy Intern position at a Shoppers Drug Mart location in Calgary. You will work in a community pharmacy setting to gain practical experience and bridge the gap between academic studies and real-world practice. This role is designed to help you prepare for a career as a pharmacist by working directly with patients and staff.
What you'll do#
- Greet customers who approach the pharmacy.
- Ensure all privacy requirements are met, including maintaining customer confidentiality and managing consent.
- Remain clearly identifiable to the public while on duty.
- Learn about the expanding responsibilities of a community pharmacist.
- Develop your knowledge of over-the-counter products, disease state management, and drug therapy.
- Build patient counseling skills and learn the fundamentals of managing a retail pharmacy.
