About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at this locally owned Shoppers Drug Mart, you will gain practical experience in a community pharmacy setting. This role focuses on preparing you for a career as a pharmacist by providing hands-on training within a retail environment. You will work under supervision to learn the daily operations of a pharmacy while supporting patient health and wellness.
What you'll do#
- Greet all customers who approach the pharmacy.
- Manage privacy requirements, including patient confidentiality and consent.
- Build communication skills by interacting with patients, pharmacy staff, and other health care professionals.
- Develop your knowledge of over-the-counter products, drug therapy, and disease state management.
- Assist in the management of a retail pharmacy environment.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a current pharmacy student with an interest in community pharmacy.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
