About the role#
As a Claims Co-op, you will practice investigation, evaluation, and communication skills while making a real impact. This program allows you to work part-time while attending classes and full-time during breaks. You will work closely with a mentor to understand how claims are handled and gain hands-on experience in the insurance industry.
What you'll do#
- Gain insight into claims negotiations and settlement processes to help reach fair resolutions.
- Guide customers through the claims process during stressful times.
- Review policy details to verify coverage and policy limits.
- Gather facts and review documentation to understand losses.
- Maintain clear, thorough records of all investigations, communications, and steps taken.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing an undergraduate or associate degree in Business Administration, Insurance, Communications, or English.
- Minimum GPA of 2.7.
- Expected graduation date between May 2029 and December 2029.
- Ability to work up to 20 hours a week during the academic year and up to 40 hours a week during breaks.
- Ability to work in a team atmosphere.
- Willingness to obtain required licensing as needed.
- Note: Sentry does not offer employment in this position to holders of F-1, J-1, or H-1 Visas.
Location & details#
- Location: Stevens Point, Wisconsin.
- Work Modality: Hybrid (in-office Tuesday through Thursday, with the option to work from home on Mondays and Fridays).
- Employment Type: Full-time hours available during breaks; part-time during the academic year.
