About the role#
As a Project Coordinator Intern, you will support the Project Management team in the coordination and execution of engineering, maintenance, optimization, and Management of Change projects. You will work on tasks involving tanks, instrumentation, process piping, pipelines, and pumps. This is a full-time, paid internship based in Calgary, Alberta, with a hybrid work structure. The role involves a mix of office-based project work and occasional field visits to company facilities.
What you'll do#
- Assist Project Managers with the planning and execution of sustaining, optimization, and Management of Change projects.
- Help develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, estimates, and approval documents.
- Coordinate activities with Operations, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain project trackers, files, drawings, specifications, cost records, and correspondence.
- Track project milestones, budgets, risks, deficiencies, and action items.
- Prepare meeting minutes, status updates, and project documentation.
- Support safety, regulatory, turnover, and closeout requirements.
- Complete assigned tasks and projects under the guidance of a Project Manager.
What you'll need#
- Completion of your third year of an Engineering degree by the start of the internship.
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary institution and a recognized internship program.
- Strong organizational, writing, and time-management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently on defined tasks and meet deadlines.
- Legal entitlement to work in Canada.
- Ability to complete a medical or drug and alcohol test if the role is deemed safety-sensitive.
- Previous experience in oil and gas, industrial construction, maintenance, or field operations is an asset.
- Familiarity with project management software, SharePoint, technical specifications, or process equipment is an asset.
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to field locations is an asset.
