About the role#
SCS Engineers is hiring a Civil or Environmental Engineering Intern for our Madison, Wisconsin office for the summer of 2027. This full-time internship offers hands-on experience in technical engineering and business operations. You will work alongside experienced professionals on a variety of client projects. Interns typically work 40 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Assist project teams with construction observation and documentation.
- Collect environmental and construction material samples.
- Manage and review laboratory data.
- Prepare reports, calculations, and compliance documentation.
- Perform surveying tasks.
- Assist with CAD drafting.
- Contribute to projects involving landfill construction and permitting, storm water management, utility work, soil and groundwater remediation, brownfield redevelopment, site development, and sustainability initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in civil, environmental, geological, or biological systems engineering.
- Graduation date no later than June 2029 (preference for those graduating by June 2028).
- Willingness to live in the Madison area for the duration of the summer 2027 term.
- Valid driver's license with a driving record in good standing.
- Solid technical and computer skills, with AutoCAD experience considered a plus.
- Ability to travel overnight for field work outside of an office setting.
- Desire to pursue a career in consulting and professional licensure after graduation.
- Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship.

- Pay: $21.00 to $25.00 per hour.
