About the role#
The Student/Casual Food Store Clerk I position at the Gravelbourg Food Store involves supporting daily store operations through customer service, inventory management, and product preparation. This role requires flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
What you'll do#
- Provide customer service by assisting customers and sharing product information.
- Operate the Point of Sale system, pack purchases, and provide efficient service.
- Stock food merchandise and perform inventory duties such as receiving, counting, and sorting.
- Maintain store standards through housekeeping tasks, including cleaning and facing shelves.
- Prepare meat products by traying, wrapping, and pricing according to department standards.
- Assist in the preparation of in-store made products, including bakery items, sausage, and hamburger.
- Operate and maintain equipment safely while adhering to sanitation and safety policies.
What you'll need#
- Previous experience in the procurement of merchandise.
- Excellent customer service skills and a positive, energetic attitude.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and interpersonal skills.
- Physical capability to perform heavy lifting, climbing, and kneeling.
- Willingness to complete required training and further your product knowledge.
