About the role#
The Grocery Manager provides leadership and direction for all aspects of centre store operations at a retail food store in Winnipeg. This position reports directly to the Store Manager and focuses on achieving financial goals, maintaining operational standards, and fostering a positive team environment.
What you'll do#
- Lead and direct the execution of financial results and store budget objectives, including sales, margins, expenses, and profits.
- Ensure high standards of department presentation, including cleanliness, sanitation, merchandising, inventory control, and purchasing.
- Manage employee relations, including hiring, training, development, performance management, and the administration of company policies.
- Build and maintain a culture of strong employee and customer engagement.
What you'll need#
- A minimum of 2 years of retail management experience, or high-level non-management retail experience.
- Sound knowledge of department financial operations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate staff to achieve operating results.
- Preferred educational background in Business Administration, Human Resources, Marketing, or Operations Management.
