About the role#
The Grocery Manager provides leadership and direction for all aspects of centre store operations at a retail food store in Winnipeg. Reporting to the Store Manager, this role focuses on driving financial performance and maintaining high operational standards.
What you'll do#
- Lead and direct the department to meet budget objectives regarding sales, margins, expenses, and profits.
- Maintain high standards for department presentation, including cleanliness, sanitation, and merchandising.
- Oversee inventory control and purchasing processes.
- Manage employee relations, including hiring, training, development, performance management, and policy administration.
- Build and maintain a culture focused on employee and customer engagement.
What you'll need#
- A minimum of 2 years of retail management experience or equivalent high-level retail experience.
- Sound knowledge of department financial operations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate staff to achieve operating results.
- Relevant educational background in Business Administration, Human Resources, Marketing, or Operations Management is considered an asset.
