About the role#
Saskatoon Co-operative Association Ltd. is hiring a Food Store Manager for the Colonsay location. This is a full-time, on-site position. You will report to the Senior Manager, Food, and oversee daily operations, staff management, and financial performance.
What you'll do#
- Manage store inventories according to budgets and company policies.
- Uphold merchandising standards, marketing efforts, and signage requirements.
- Provide efficient, courteous service to all customers.
- Schedule all employees and handle performance management.
- Direct, coach, and train team members while maintaining clear communication.
- Secure cash, property, and equipment while monitoring for loss prevention.
- Prepare reports, invoices, and claims while reviewing operating statements for budget accuracy.
- Coordinate promotional activities, including display building and in-store demonstrations.
- Collaborate with the Human Resources department regarding team member administration.
What you'll need#
- Proven retail management experience, preferably in a Food Store or Gas Bar/C-Store setting.
- Demonstrated leadership in customer service, store image, and loss prevention.
- Ability to direct, coach, and train staff effectively.
- Strong organizational skills, initiative, and a positive attitude.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Availability to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends, as well as availability for after-hours calls or emergencies.
- A background in Business Administration, Marketing, or Human Resources is relevant, though a combination of education and experience will be considered.
