About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to support the Data Steward department at Santander. You will gain insight into how our organization manages data governance and quality across key business domains, including risk, finance, and operations. This is a full-time, paid position based in Miami.
What you'll do#
- Support the preparation and coordination of monthly Data Owner materials and meetings.
- Gather and validate information from stakeholders.
- Prepare meeting materials and document key decisions and action items.
- Track outstanding deliverables through to completion.
- Support periodic attestation activities with Data Owners and business domains.
- Coordinate reviews, prepare inventories, and collect stakeholder feedback.
- Document attestations, identify items requiring modification or retirement, and track resulting actions.
- Contribute to the monthly Data Owner governance cycle, ITWG reporting, and project and rule attestations.
- Perform BAU data quality rule management, remediation tracking, and stakeholder follow-ups.
- Complete at least one process-improvement initiative, such as an enhanced tracker, dashboard, or streamlined workflow.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Finance, or a similar discipline.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and follow up on outstanding deliverables.
- Comfort working with stakeholders across different business and functional areas.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Interest in data management, data governance, banking, risk management, or data analytics.
- Experience with data visualization or analytical tools is beneficial but not required.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without sponsorship.
