About the role#
This position is a Winter 2027 co-op role within the Global Immunology department. You will join the Early-Stage Immunology group to support research by analyzing biological datasets, building computational models, and contributing to vaccine development programs. You will work in a collaborative environment with access to mentorship and guidance as you gain experience with research tools and platforms.
What you'll do#
- Build and run computational pipelines and analytical methods for large-scale immunological datasets.
- Analyze complex biological data from genomic sequencing, proteomics, and immunological assays.
- Perform quality checks on research data entries in electronic notebooks.
- Use programming languages, statistical tools, and bioinformatics software to process high-throughput data.
- Maintain code and optimize pipelines while following best practices for data reproducibility.
- Create data visualizations and document findings using computational notebooks and version control systems.
- Present analytical results and contribute to scientific discussions in project meetings.
- Assist in the implementation of analytical pipelines for pre-clinical immunology teams.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in bioinformatics, computational biology, data science, computer science, or a related field.
- Permanent authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week on-site in Waltham, Massachusetts.
- Coursework in statistics, programming, and biological sciences.
- Basic programming skills in Python, R, or a similar language.
- Understanding of biological concepts, specifically immunology.
- Experience with immunological assay data such as ELISA or cell-based assays.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in written and verbal English.
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team.
