The TO Youth Co-Op program is designed to provide high school students with meaningful work experience and on-the-job learning. Working under the supervision of a Department Manager, you will support the team in delivering services to the community and internal stakeholders. This role is intended to build professional skills that may lead to future career opportunities.
What you'll do#
- Greet the public and direct visitors to the appropriate staff or destination.
- Provide information and assistance regarding department programs and services.
- Deliver consistent, professional customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Assist with various department program needs as assigned by your supervisor.
- Complete all department-specific training requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to Tribal Operations personnel policies.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in 11th or 12th grade.
- Membership in the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe.
- Eligibility to earn high school credits.
- A letter of recommendation for participation and placement from a high school advisor or counselor.
- A valid work permit from a state-accredited high school.
- Proficiency in business English, basic arithmetic, and standard office computer software.
- Ability to communicate effectively, manage multiple tasks, and work professionally with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to meet physical demands, including sitting for extended periods, occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds, and working in various weather conditions.
Location & details#
- Location: Mt Pleasant, Michigan.
- Term: Summer 2026.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Part-time, Monday through Friday, 1st shift (scheduled around school hours).
- Compensation: $12.03 per hour.
- Preference: Native American preference applies to this position.
