About the role#
The TO Youth Co-Op position provides high school students with on-the-job learning experiences through meaningful work activities. This role serves as a staff member within a department to provide direct and indirect services to the community, clients, and customers. This is a paid, part-time position scheduled during the first shift, Monday through Friday, with hours adjusted to accommodate school schedules.
What you'll do#
- Greet the public and direct individuals to the appropriate staff or destination.
- Assist with various department program needs.
- Provide information and assistance to the public regarding department programs and services.
- Deliver customer service to all internal and external customers and address concerns.
- Maintain confidentiality and present a professional demeanor.
- Complete all department-specific training and comply with Tribal Operations policies.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in 11th or 12th grade.
- Membership in the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe.
- Eligibility to earn high school credits.
- A letter from a high school advisor or counselor recommending participation and placement.
- A work permit from an accredited Michigan high school.
- Proficiency in business English, basic arithmetic, and Windows-based computer programs.
- Ability to communicate effectively, handle multiple tasks, and work well with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to sit for extended periods, use office equipment, and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.

- Wage: $12.03 per hour.
