About the role#
As a State and Local Tax Intern, you will work with a variety of companies across different industries. You will join team engagements and handle multiple parts of an assignment to gain a broad understanding of tax operations. This role is based in Irvine, California, and is scheduled for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Integrate state and local tax services for existing clients.
- Complete tax planning and research tasks.
- Develop an understanding of state and local tax regulations and accounting pronouncements.
- Review current client tax processes to identify inefficiencies and suggest improvements.
- Coordinate with client information technology personnel to obtain data for analysis.
- Assist clients in evaluating sales and use tax software systems.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least 90 credit hours.
- Enrollment in an accounting degree program at an accredited university.
- Strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred.
Location & details#
- This position is located in Irvine, California.
- This is a full-time, on-site internship.
- Travel to assigned client locations is required. You must have access to reliable transportation to reach these sites.
