About the role#
As a Tax Intern, you will support the planning and execution of cross-border tax matters. You will contribute to client mandates, both ongoing and transactional, while working with the Cross Border Tax Team to assist Canadian companies operating abroad and foreign companies investing in Canada.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and review complex tax returns and identify planning opportunities.
- Prepare specialty tax forms such as branch tax returns, Reg 105, and T2057.
- Research tax issues, interpret legislation, and apply it to client situations.
- Assist with the implementation of tax planning strategies.
What you'll need#
- A CPA designation or be in the process of obtaining one.
- In progress or intention to pursue the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course or a Master of Tax.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a tax role working with owner-managed private businesses.
- Technical proficiency in CaseWare, Word, Excel, TaxPrep, and tax research software like TaxnetPro or CCH.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, including the ability to present information clearly to clients and team members.
- Exceptional attention to detail and proven problem-solving capabilities.
- Commitment to providing exceptional client service.
