About the role#
We are looking for a Risk Intern to join our Risk, Performance, & Technology practice for the Winter 2027 term. This role provides hands-on experience in internal controls, cybersecurity, compliance, and operational risk. You will work alongside experienced professionals to support client engagements and internal firm initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Identify, assess, and document business risks and controls.
- Help maintain risk registers and control frameworks.
- Test internal controls for design and operational effectiveness.
- Evaluate compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze data to support risk assessments and control testing.
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations for client deliverables.
- Coordinate project documentation and client meetings.
- Research emerging risks, industry trends, and regulatory changes.
- Provide insights to support decision-making for clients and the firm.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Business, Economics, Risk Management, or BTM.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Experience using AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Copilot.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify patterns.
- Knowledge of risk frameworks such as COSO, NIST CSF, ISO 27001, or COBIT.
- Familiarity with data analytics tools like Power BI or Tableau is an asset.
- Interest in pursuing professional designations such as CPA, CIA, CRMA, CISA, or PMP.
- Strong attention to detail and clear communication skills.
