About the role#
This paid internship offers a look into the daily operations and management of a culinary department within a resort and country club environment. You will gain exposure to different areas including line kitchen operations, garde manger, baking, pastry, and stewarding. A supervisor will act as a mentor to help you develop your skills in kitchen management.
What you'll do#
- Operate dish machines and maintain kitchen equipment.
- Prepare and coordinate banquet events, including off-site catering and action stations.
- Inspect food products upon arrival and manage proper storage, rotation, and organization in refrigerators and freezers.
- Assist on the line for breakfast, lunch, and dinner service.
- Prepare desserts and manage buffet presentations.
- Take daily inventory and order supplies based on production sheets.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Nutrition program.
- An interest in culinary execution and management styles.
- Ability to work in a resort or country club environment.
- Willingness to learn and follow sanitation standards.
