About the role#
This internship offers a hands-on experience in horticulture and landscape design at Reynolds Lake Oconee. You will join the Golf Course and Landscape Maintenance team for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in Greensboro, Georgia.
What you'll do#
- Plant, transplant, and shape trees and shrubs to ensure healthy growth.
- Maintain turf, edge borders, and clear walkways.
- Apply mulch, pine straw, and compost to landscape areas.
- Handle fertilization, weeding, and watering tasks.
- Operate and perform minor repairs on horticultural tools and equipment.
- Document chemical applications accurately.
- Collaborate with the team on landscaping projects and report plant health issues.
- Follow all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment.
- Maintain a clean work environment and report any hazards or injuries to management immediately.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Horticulture or related degree program.
- Previous experience in landscape maintenance or installation is preferred.
- Ability to operate equipment with precision.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Physical ability to stand, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs. consistently.
- Comfort working outdoors in various weather conditions.
