About the role#
Retell builds infrastructure and tools that power real-time AI voice agents. We want to make complex technical workflows feel clear and intuitive. As a Product Design Intern, you will work with our designers, engineers, and founders to bring product ideas to life. You will take ownership of scoped projects, moving from early concepts to polished experiences that reach real customers.
What you'll do#
- Design user flows and interfaces for building, testing, and managing AI voice agents.
- Take scoped projects from initial concepts and wireframes to polished designs.
- Create interactive prototypes in Figma to communicate ideas and refine interactions.
- Work side-by-side with engineers to ship features and clarify edge cases.
- Identify UX friction and visual inconsistencies to propose practical improvements.
- Contribute reusable components, patterns, and documentation to our design system.
- Maintain a high bar for typography, spacing, hierarchy, and consistency.
What you'll need#
- Current student or recent graduate in design, HCI, or a related field.
- A portfolio demonstrating product thinking, visual craft, and clear design decisions.
- Comfort using Figma for interfaces, reusable components, and interactive prototypes.
- Strong sense of usability, hierarchy, and visual clarity.
- Detail-oriented approach with a focus on polish.
- Ability to explain design decisions, welcome feedback, and iterate.
- Initiative to ask questions and work through ambiguity.
- Interest in AI and collaborating with designers, engineers, and founders.
Location & details#
- Location: Redwood City, California.
- Modality: On-site (no relocation provided).
- Employment: Full-time paid internship.
- Compensation: $3,500 - $5,000 per month.
- Sponsorship: We can support OPT/CPT requirements.
