About the role#
This is an 8-month internship position for an Actuarial Student within our Structured Finance team. You will gain exposure to the insurance industry while working on real-world projects. The role is based in Toronto and operates on a hybrid schedule.
What you'll do#
- Prepare calculations, reports, and analysis for day-to-day inforce collateral monitoring.
- Improve Structured Finance processes through automation and documentation using Excel, Python, and SQL.
- Use Bloomberg to extract asset data and update reports regarding RGA collateral held or pledged assets.
- Assist the Structured Finance team with ad-hoc projects involving financial reporting or risk assessment.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor of Mathematics program with a major in Actuarial Science.
- Completion of at least one or two SOA exams.
- Knowledge of actuarial concepts appropriate to your current level of study.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with SQL and programming in Python or R.
- Familiarity with GGY AXIS or Prophet software.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team.
