About the role#
As a Quantitative Risk Intern, you will support the analysis and development of models used in internal risk management and regulatory capital reporting. You will assist with capital markets trading and investment portfolios across asset classes. This role involves collaborating with business and risk teams to design risk scenarios and maintain data quality. You will use advanced analytical tools to improve efficiency in risk management and governance.
What you'll do#
- Work with model users to develop market data and scenario generation methodologies.
- Evaluate model performance metrics and create benchmarking analyses.
- Support the automation of risk analysis infrastructure to standardize processes.
- Implement emerging technologies, including machine learning and AI, to improve data quality and analytical capabilities.
- Coordinate with agile teams to deliver risk and analytics solutions.
What you'll need#
- Experience in data analysis or quantitative analytics.
- Knowledge of traded products across various asset classes.
- Programming skills in Python or an equivalent language.
- Proficiency in data management and visualization tools like SQL and Tableau.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid 4-month internship for Winter 2027 (January to April).
- The role is based in Toronto, Ontario.
- Work modality includes remote, on-site, and hybrid options, to be discussed with the hiring manager.
- Candidates must be returning to school after the work term or require this placement as a mandatory graduation component.
