About the role#
The Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities team at Raytheon Technologies is looking for a Systems Engineering Intern. This role focuses on the integration of hardware and software systems to ensure they meet performance requirements. You will work across the product lifecycle, supporting program development, testing, and system deployment. This position is based in Woburn, Massachusetts, and requires the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
What you'll do#
- Integrate hardware and software components.
- Develop and execute test plans and procedures in lab or field environments.
- Debug and evaluate system functions, interfaces, and performance.
- Support troubleshooting and failure data analysis, including root cause processes.
- Perform functional analysis of real-world and test data.
- Conduct trade studies to support system enhancements.
- Maintain engineering specifications, drawings, and databases.
- Prepare and present technical reports and briefings.
- Participate in team meetings and working groups.
- Support product qualification and sustainment activities.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in a STEM field.
- Actively enrolled through the completion of the internship.
- Minimum of 60 credit hours completed by the start date.
- Experience troubleshooting technical issues through academic work or previous internships.
- Proficiency with common commercial test equipment such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.
- U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a government-issued security clearance.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Understanding of electrical, mechanical, or software system integration.
- Familiarity with C, C++, or C#.
- Experience with MATLAB or Python scripting for data analysis and automation.
- Exposure to military platforms like aircraft, ships, or ground combat systems.
- Experience reading electrical schematics and interface control documentation.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site role located in Woburn, Massachusetts.
- Test event support may require travel, not expected to exceed 10%.
- This is a full-time, paid internship with a rolling term.
