About the role#
Pratt & Whitney Canada is seeking an intern for the Engine Center Process Planning team for the Winter 2027 term. This role involves maintaining electronic work instructions for turbine engine assembly and coordinating between stakeholders to ensure process standards are met. You will contribute to real-world projects, apply technical skills, and collaborate with manufacturing analysts, engineers, and production staff.
What you'll do#
- Plan, write, and develop computerized assembly factory specifications (eCATES).
- Define assembly processes, tooling, and test equipment required for engine and module assembly.
- Support production by improving assembly processes and preparing for production runs.
- Maintain and improve engine test sequences.
- Interpret complex engineering drawings, documents, and specifications.
- Incorporate engineering changes and RFNs into documentation.
- Serve as a point of contact for creating temporary assembly and test procedures during investigations.
- Lead or participate in quality clinics to track departmental performance indicators.
- Design databases to centralize tooling and assembly data.
- Participate in root cause investigations regarding dimensional variations and engine operating problems.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Canadian university or CEGEP throughout the internship.
- Current studies in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
- Eligibility to work in Canada.
- Excellent communication skills in French (spoken and written).
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
- Ability to work on-site.
- Organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure with competing priorities.
- Familiarity with MS Access, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of CATIA software and Visual Basic is an asset.
- Understanding of gas turbine engine fundamentals is an asset.
Location & details#
- Location: 1000 Marie-Victorin Blvd, Longueuil, Quebec, Canada.
- Term: January 5 to April 23, 2027 (8-month internship option available).
- Work Modality: On-site, 5 days per week.
- Schedule: 38.75 hours per week.
- Employment is conditional upon successful completion of a criminal background check and obtaining required controlled goods authorizations.
