About the role#
We are seeking Software Engineering Interns to join our team in St. Petersburg, Florida for the Summer 2027 term. You will work within Scaled Agile Framework scrum teams to provide practical solutions to complex technical problems. This role supports multiple programs and platforms within a software product line, offering exposure to the full software development life cycle.
What you'll do#
- Perform real-time software development, application development, test and verification, data analysis, and software tools development.
- Participate in the requirements, design, development, and testing of real-time embedded software and tools.
- Develop new work products or enhance existing applications and systems.
- Design, code, test, integrate, and document software solutions.
- Participate in internal reviews of software components and systems.
- Collaborate with project managers and other engineering professionals.
- Follow established development practices to maintain configuration management.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM major.
- Must be actively enrolled through the completion of the internship session.
- Experience in real-time C++ embedded software, Windows and Linux operating systems, GIT, Jira, Jenkins, Pearl, Bash, and/or Kornshell.
- Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, systems software design, and operating systems.
- Understanding of the software development life cycle, requirements analysis, architecture, and design.
- Familiarity with verification and validation of software in simulated, laboratory, and tactical environments.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to produce technical documentation.
- A desire to learn new technologies and tools.
- Ability to obtain an interim U.S. government-issued secret security clearance prior to the start date.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
