About the role#
As a Software Engineering Intern at Antares, you will join our Reactor Hardware Engineering team. You will work on embedded software and the systems used to test, diagnose, and understand the behavior of our hardware. This role involves hands-on exposure to the connection between software and physical systems. You will be integrated into the team as a first-year junior engineer, tasked with a long-duration project that culminates in a technical deliverable and presentation.
What you'll do#
- Support the development, debugging, and testing of embedded software, including hardware interfaces, diagnostic capabilities, and automated tools.
- Perform hands-on testing and validation of hardware-in-the-loop environments.
- Reproduce and investigate software and hardware-in-the-loop failures to identify the source of unexpected behavior.
- Improve test coverage and validation processes based on system testing findings.
- Improve system telemetry from source to destination by instrumenting software components.
- Integrate system signals into HMI and Grafana for monitoring and troubleshooting.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program, entering your Junior or Senior year.
- Prior internship experience or significant (over 1 year) project team, laboratory, or research experience.
- GPA of 3.5 or above.
- Proficiency in developing, debugging, or testing embedded software.
- Experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing or software/hardware integration.
- Experience with software instrumentation, telemetry, or system monitoring.
- Experience with HMI or Grafana.
- Experience in a university club or organization.
- Strong interpersonal, technical communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work cross-departmentally and independently as part of a team.
- Majors in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.

- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: On-site, five days per week.
- Employment: Full-time internship.
- Compensation: Paid position with a relocation and housing stipend provided.
