    About the role#

    As a Nuclear Operations & Licensing Engineering Intern, you will help define how reactor systems are operated, maintained, and deployed. You will work directly with responsible engineers to translate system designs into practical operating and maintenance requirements. This role provides exposure to the intersection of reactor engineering, operations, training, and nuclear licensing.

    What you'll do#

    • Interface with responsible engineers to establish operating requirements for reactor systems.
    • Develop and document maintenance requirements based on system designs and operating needs.
    • Use reactor simulators and test systems to validate and improve operator training activities.
    • Evaluate international nuclear licensing frameworks relevant to reactor deployment.
    • Identify synergies and differences between domestic and international licensing requirements.
    • Assess approaches for demonstrating compliance across domestic and international deployments.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program, entering your Junior or Senior year.
    • Prior internship experience, or over one year of project team, laboratory, or research experience.
    • GPA of 3.5 or above.
    • Experience in a university club or organization, with a preference for leadership roles.
    • Strong interpersonal and technical communication skills.
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
    • Ability to work cross-departmentally and communicate effectively in both independent and team settings.

    • Location: Idaho Falls, Idaho.
    • Term: Summer 2027.
    • Modality: Full-time, on-site.
    • This is a paid internship.
