    About the role#

    As a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Pratt & Whitney, you will work on complex mechanical engineering problems. This full-time position is based in East Hartford, Connecticut, for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on-site and must be a U.S. citizen to access program information.

    What you'll do#

    • Collaborate with the engineering team to solve difficult mechanical problems with supervisor oversight.
    • Provide design intent to the Product Definition team for the creation of models and drawings.
    • Generate hardware design solutions that meet test engine objectives.
    • Coordinate the delivery of development hardware to test engines on schedule.
    • Partner with Operations to resolve production issues.
    • Evaluate hardware nonconformances to support timely production hardware delivery.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Advanced degree program in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, with at least 30 credit hours completed by the start of the internship.
    • A minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
    • Experience with CAD software such as NX, SolidWorks, Creo, or Fusion 360.
    • Familiarity with mechanical hardware documentation or drawing standards.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office, Teamcenter, Unigraphics NX, ANSYS, and classical analysis methods.
    • Ability to write reports, deliver presentations, and work with cross-functional teams.
    • Experience working with deadlines and attention to detail.
    • Previous RTX internship, co-op, or work experience is preferred.
