Co-Op Opportunity - Automation & IT/OT Engineer

About the role#

This is a paid, full-time Co-Op opportunity based in Aiken, South Carolina. You will work in a hybrid capacity, contributing to the development, delivery, and commissioning of process control systems and solutions. This role involves a mix of on-site and remote support, requiring the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.

What you'll do#

• Design, build, and support IT/OT computer systems, including virtual infrastructure and failover/backup recovery systems.
• Perform network administration, including installing and troubleshooting hardwired and wireless networks.
• Manage Active Directories, Terminal Services, user accounts, and thin client networks.
• Conduct Distributed Control System (DCS) commissioning and startup.
• Perform System Performance Audits on customer systems.
• Troubleshoot field instrumentation, valve-related situations, computer hardware, and Microsoft operating systems.
• Configure interfaces for PLCs, drives, and bus-based networks.
• Provide on-site control system modifications and tuning.
• Conduct training sessions for end users.
• Assist in the quotation and technical sales support of control system field service solutions.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a B.S. degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar technical field.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a customer project team.
• Knowledge of industrial safety practices and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Must be a United States Citizen.
• Valid driver’s license.
• A strong desire for ongoing learning and working with the latest technologies.
