About the role#
We are looking for a Co-Op Automation & IT/OT Engineer to join our team in Aiken, South Carolina. This is a paid, full-time, hybrid position. You will support the development, delivery, and commissioning of process control systems for our customers. This role involves both on-site and remote work, requiring the ability to transition between multiple tasks and respond to service requests as needed.
What you'll do#
- Design, build, and support IT-OT computer systems, including virtual infrastructure, failover, and backup systems.
- Manage network administration, including hardwired and wireless installations, Active Directories, and terminal services.
- Perform system performance audits on customer systems.
- Troubleshoot field instrumentation, valve-related situations, and computer hardware.
- Execute distributed control system commissioning and startup.
- Install and troubleshoot Microsoft operating systems and set up interfaces to PLCs, drives, and bus-based networks.
- Conduct training sessions for end users.
- Provide written documentation, including field service reports and project updates.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a B.S. degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a similar technical field.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a customer project team.
- Knowledge of industrial safety practices and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- United States citizenship and a valid driver's license.
- A desire to participate in ongoing learning of new technologies.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
