About the role#
The US State and Local Tax (SALT) Group is looking for a student to join our practice for a 4-month co-op term during Summer 2027. You will work with a diverse range of clients, including public and private middle market companies and multinational organizations. You will help businesses understand their tax obligations, optimize their positions, and navigate complex state-specific rules and filing methods.
What you'll do#
- Assist with state tax advisory engagements, including nexus analyses, voluntary disclosures, and sales tax analysis.
- Support US SALT due diligence on potential acquisitions and transaction-related projects like restructuring.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with client stakeholders and internal teams.
- Stay current on state and local tax developments and share relevant insights with the team.
- Support business development efforts by assisting with research, proposals, and client materials.
- Execute workstreams across multiple engagements while communicating progress to senior team members.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or Mathematics.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Interest in AI and emerging technologies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and tax research tools.
- Proficiency in French and English.
