About the role#
This 4-month co-op position is based in Toronto for the Summer 2027 term. You will join the US State and Local Tax (SALT) group to deliver consulting and advisory services to Canadian-owned US businesses. You will work with a diverse range of clients, including public and private middle market companies and large multinational organizations. This role requires you to be on-site.
What you'll do#
- Assist with state tax advisory engagements, such as nexus analyses, voluntary disclosures, and sales tax analysis.
- Support US SALT due diligence on potential acquisitions and transaction-related projects like restructuring.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with client stakeholders and internal teams.
- Contribute to a collaborative, inclusive team environment and support knowledge sharing among peers.
- Stay current on state and local tax developments and share relevant insights with the team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated interest in AI and emerging technologies.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
