About the role#
The US State and Local Tax (SALT) Group is looking for a student to join our practice for a 4-month co-op term starting in January 2027. You will work with a diverse range of clients, including public and private middle market companies and large multinational organizations. In this role, you will help businesses understand their obligations, optimize their tax positions, and navigate complex issues from strategy through execution.
What you'll do#
- Assist with state tax advisory engagements, including nexus analyses, voluntary disclosures, and sales tax analysis.
- Support US SALT due diligence on potential acquisitions and transaction-related projects.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with client stakeholders and internal teams.
- Stay current on state and local tax developments and share relevant insights with the team.
- Contribute to a collaborative, inclusive team environment and support knowledge sharing among peers.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate new ideas.
- Proficiency in French and English is required.
- US inbound (cross-border tax) exposure is an asset.

- This is a full-time, paid co-op position based on-site in Montreal, Quebec.
- The term is for 4 months, beginning in January 2027.
