About the role#
This is a 4-month co-op position within the Risk Modelling Services team, focusing on Property & Casualty actuarial work. You will join a team of problem solvers to help clients navigate complex business issues. Throughout this term, you will work alongside experienced actuaries, gaining exposure to valuation, pricing, and risk management projects. This role requires fluency in French.
What you'll do#
- Provide support for IFRS 17 financial statement audits, including re-performing actuarial liabilities and reviewing methodologies.
- Assist with a broad range of actuarial consulting services such as model development, financial condition testing, and climate risk management.
- Participate in business development efforts and ad-hoc projects, including process automation and finance modernization.
- Work closely with experienced actuaries on valuation and pricing tasks.
- Collaborate on cross-functional projects with other teams, including Financial Services Consulting, Advisory, Tax, and Data & Analytics.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or Computer Science.
- Active progress toward a CIA or CAS designation.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel.
- Knowledge of actuarial theories and insurance products.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python or R.
- Excellent command of the French language.
