University of Cincinnati R&D Engineer Co-op

About the role#

This co-op position is open exclusively to University of Cincinnati students for the Summer 2028 term. As an R&D Engineer Co-op, you will contribute to the creation and launch of consumer product innovations. You will be assigned specific projects from your first day, working alongside technologists and mentors to develop your technical skills while advancing real business needs. The co-op duration ranges from 12 to 24 weeks.

What you'll do#

• Innovate, develop, and manufacture consumer products.
• Analyze consumer needs to establish product design parameters.
• Translate consumer requirements into product formulations and designs.
• Create and improve product packaging and devices.
• Develop new raw material technologies.
• Collaborate with technical and commercial partners across various R&D functions, including process development, modeling and simulation, and data science.

What you'll need#

• Current progress toward a BS degree in a life or physical science (such as Chemistry, Biology, or Biochemistry) or an engineering discipline (Chemical, Mechanical, Biomedical, Environmental, or related fields).
• Proficiency in Data Science or Physics is also applicable.
• Experience in engineering design, coding, testing, deployment, and support is preferred.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD design.
• Knowledge of computer programming languages such as C or C++.
• Experience with MCU software development.
