    About the role#

    As a Quality Engineer Intern at Pratt & Whitney, you will work within the Operations, Supply Chain, and Quality team. This role focuses on maintaining high standards for aerospace components through continuous improvement and direct support of manufacturing activities. You will gain exposure to leadership and collaborate across functions to resolve complex technical issues.

    What you'll do#

    • Analyze and interpret quality trends.
    • Participate in root cause analysis and develop corrective or preventative solutions.
    • Interface with suppliers to resolve open issues.
    • Review and disposition nonconforming materials.
    • Ensure contract compliance by reviewing major deliverables, deviations, waivers, and test results.
    • Coordinate with customers and the Defense Contract Management Agency to resolve reported issues.
    • Verify adherence to Raytheon and contract program requirements.

    What you'll need#

    • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related STEM field.
    • Completion of at least 60 credit hours by the start of the internship.
    • A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office tools.
    • Familiarity with Quality and Mission Assurance processes.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
    • U.S. citizenship is required.
    • Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience is preferred.
    • Education or experience in continuous improvement methodologies like Six Sigma, Lean, or the RTX CORE Operating System is preferred.

    Location & details#

    • This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
    • The role is based on-site in Tucson, Arizona.
    • This position requires working in and around factory areas.
