About the role#
PPL Corporation is hiring Mechanical Engineering students for a paid, full-time co-op position during the Spring 2027 semester. You will work on-site in either Louisville or Bedford, Kentucky, from January through May. This program provides hands-on experience in the utility industry, including opportunities in fleet engineering, power plant operations, project engineering, and gas transmission compliance.
What you'll do#
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend solutions.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data using established engineering procedures.
- Perform routine engineering tasks such as calculations, testing, and analysis.
- Support operations and maintenance teams with troubleshooting and technical evaluations.
- Assist engineers with large-scale projects and initiatives.
- Participate in the development of engineering goals, budgets, and procedures.
- Review assignments for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Promote a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.
What you'll need#
- Availability to work full time during the Spring 2027 semester (January - May).
- Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree program for Mechanical Engineering.
- A minimum GPA of 2.50.
