About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will spend six months gaining hands-on experience at the New Madrid Power Plant. This paid position allows you to step beyond the classroom to work alongside experienced professionals and see how mechanical engineering supports safe, reliable power generation.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to mechanical engineering projects that support power plant operations, reliability, and performance.
- Work alongside experienced engineers and plant professionals who provide guidance and practical insight.
- Apply classroom knowledge to real-world mechanical systems, equipment, maintenance challenges, and engineering projects.
- Build practical technical and problem-solving skills through an immersive experience in the utility industry.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Interest in power generation, mechanical systems, utility operations, or the energy industry.
- Ability to commit to a six-month co-op internship.
