About the role#
Powell is offering a 10-week summer internship for students interested in automation engineering. You will work on projects that support our engineering team as we move toward ISO certification. This role focuses on creating standardized processes and design templates that will be used by current and future employees.
What you'll do#
- Create standard panel design templates that align with HMI standardization.
- Implement the necessary I/O for HMI displays.
- Develop startup drawing designs for use by the engineering team.
- Write learning materials for new hires, including FAQs, introductions to I/O and communications, and guides on common design issues.
- Produce standard work procedures to assist with the onboarding of future team members.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program for Electrical Engineering.
- Rising Junior or Senior status, with plans to continue your studies in Fall 2027.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA and strong academic standing.
- Ability to work well in a team, multitask, and communicate effectively.
- A dependable, self-starting attitude.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time, on-site position located in Houston, Texas.
- The internship term is scheduled for Summer 2027.
- We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role.
