About the role#
The Plant Engineering Intern works with the Plant Manager and the Maintenance Manager to improve plant efficiency and optimize run time. You will troubleshoot process needs to maintain production levels and assist in developing predictive and preventative maintenance programs. This is a full-time, on-site internship for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Identify process needs and troubleshoot issues to keep production on track.
- Work with the maintenance department and outside vendors to develop preventative maintenance programs, including determining inspection frequencies and necessary tools.
- Collaborate with the management team to strengthen and develop plant operating procedures.
- Maintain project confidentiality and foster a culture of safety and environmental compliance.
- Champion the company in the community and maintain a team-oriented environment.
- Perform physical tasks such as climbing stairs and ladders, opening valves, and working in varied temperatures ranging from -20 to 100 degrees.
What you'll need#
- Junior or Senior-level student enrolled full-time in a 4-year degree program for Chemical, Mechanical, or Agricultural Engineering.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week across a variety of shifts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new software programs.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities with an innovative mindset.
- Familiarity with DCS control and DCS historian systems is preferred.
- Ability to adapt to change and work effectively in a team environment.
