About the role#
The PNC Chief Investment Office Economics team handles economic forecasting, scenario design, and modeling. This internship offers the chance to apply advanced research techniques to real-world challenges in risk management and financial markets. You will work at the intersection of economics and financial services, using quantitative models to assess trends and their implications for the bank and its clients.
What you'll do#
- Conduct economic and financial research to support macroeconomic forecasting, scenario design, and market analysis.
- Analyze economic data, financial markets, and emerging trends to identify risks and opportunities.
- Assist in the development and evaluation of quantitative models used for forecasting, stress testing, and risk management.
- Prepare presentations, data visualizations, and written insights to communicate findings to internal stakeholders and clients.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a master’s or PhD program in Economics, Finance, Econometrics, or a related quantitative field.
- Graduation date within the next 12 months.
- Strong foundation in economic theory, econometrics, statistics, and empirical research methods.
- Experience working with large-scale economic or financial datasets.
- Proficiency in analytical and programming tools such as Python, R, MATLAB, Stata, or SAS.
- Ability to translate quantitative findings into clear, actionable insights for technical and non-technical audiences.

- This is a full-time, on-site position based in New York, New York.
