About the role#
This co-op position offers hands-on experience in research and development within the healthcare technology sector. You will contribute to the evaluation and validation of cleaning and disinfection strategies for reusable medical devices. This role involves working closely with test technicians and laboratories to ensure products meet safety and regulatory standards.
What you'll do#
- Assist in developing and validating cleaning and disinfection processes for medical devices.
- Define and review requirements to ensure they are risk-based and testable.
- Plan and coordinate testing with internal and external laboratories.
- Write and execute test protocols and reports that align with ISO Standards and FDA Guidance.
- Perform hands-on testing and data collection.
- Evaluate how repeated cleaning cycles affect material compatibility and device function.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program for Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Microbiology, Material Science, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience gained through university coursework, previous internships, or co-ops.
- Foundational knowledge in chemistry, material science, or microbiology.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills.

- This is a full-time, paid position located in New Kensington, Pennsylvania.
- The role is on-site.
- The term covers Winter and Summer 2027.
