About the role#
This co-op position supports the Field Operations Department at Philadelphia Gas Works. You will work directly with the Planning, Engineering, and Construction section to assist with daily operations, project development, and safety documentation.
What you'll do#
- Assist the Planning, Engineering, and Construction section with reporting and tracking methods for departmental programs.
- Support project design efforts.
- Review recommended procedures and Distribution Standards, providing input for improvements.
- Research and develop instruction manuals for project directives and equipment usage.
- Document current safety procedures and review accident or claim reports.
- Support the Superintendent of Training and Safety with special projects and assignments.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Safety Science, or Occupational Safety.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
- Organizational management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously under short deadlines.
