About the role#
This internship supports the Operations Management Balancing and Interchange team. You will work directly with the staff who manage grid operations 24/7. Your analysis will help Control Room leadership identify scheduling conflicts, turnaround risks, and RTO order violations. You will gain insight into how data supports grid reliability.
What you'll do#
- Build and refine scheduling and workforce analytics.
- Create dashboards and reports using Power BI and Excel.
- Use SQL and Python to identify trends in scheduling and workforce data.
- Work on system migrations, scenario-based training design, or scheduling health indicators.
- Review overnight scheduling data to support daily operations.
- Participate in working sessions with schedulers to address specific pain points.
- Present your findings to Control Room leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate student status.
- Coursework in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or Data Analytics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
- Ability to use SQL for data analysis.
- Coursework or experience in operations management, engineering fundamentals, or process improvement.
- Hands-on project experience with dashboards, workflow design, or system migration.
- Prior internship experience in operations, analytics, or reliability environments is preferred.
