About the role#
As an Operations Intern, you will gain hands-on experience inside an operational facility. This role bridges classroom learning with practical application by providing exposure to daily plant operations and business activities. You will work alongside experienced professionals, shadow various teams, and contribute to operational initiatives. This internship is designed to build your skills and provide a look at how operations drive business success.
What you'll do#
- Assist Team Leaders and Shift Leaders with daily tasks, including training, providing work direction, and developing subordinates to meet safety and quality requirements.
- Support production staff to ensure product quality and integrity.
- Verify that all finished products meet or exceed customer requirements.
- Help maintain an environment that supports associate retention.
- Administer company policies and procedures.
- Rotate through various functions in fresh or cook plants, including areas like Live Haul, Wastewater, Accounting, Human Resources, Receiving, Dressing, Evisceration, Giblet Packing, Grading, Cut Up, Stretch Bag, Deboning, the 28 Degree Cooler, Box Room, Weight/Price/Label, and Shipping.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited four-year bachelor's degree program.
- Academic background in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, Production Management, Business, Animal Science, Poultry Science, Agriculture, or Occupational Safety and Environmental Health.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to motivate others.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.

- The role is on-site and full-time.
