About the role#
As a Monitoring & Insights Intern, you will support the Penta Intelligence division by helping global clients understand stakeholder sentiment, media coverage, and emerging risks. You will work with large volumes of news, media, and proprietary data to produce both real-time outputs and long-form analysis. This role is designed for individuals interested in media analysis, business intelligence, and stakeholder insights.
What you'll do#
- Monitor news and events across print, digital, television, radio, and social media.
- Collaborate with analysts to alert clients to news in a timely and effective manner.
- Collect and prepare data to support media analysis and scheduled report deliveries.
- Assist with long-term research projects.
- Create pivot tables from Excel report data.
- Update report graphics and charts for review.
- Write descriptive text to interpret data and tell the story behind the numbers.
- Validate and interpret automated scoring regarding reputation risk and stakeholder views.
What you'll need#
- A bachelor's degree in any discipline, with a preference for Communications, Journalism, Economics, History, or other social sciences.
- Experience writing analytical reports and creating presentations using Microsoft Office or Google Suite.
- A solid understanding of Excel for exploratory data analysis and visualization.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and writing skills.
- Intellectual curiosity and a desire to understand the deeper meaning behind content and data.
- Strong attention to detail, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to prioritize competing tasks.
Location & details#
- This is a remote, paid internship for Summer 2026.
- Candidates must be located on the West Coast of the United States.
- The schedule is 35-40 hours per week, typically during an 11 am to 7 pm PT shift.
- Rotational weekend shifts (2 pm to 5 pm PT on Saturdays and Sundays) are required every six weeks.
- The position is full-time and non-exempt, eligible for overtime pay.
