About the role#
As a Monitoring & Insights Intern, you will support the Penta Intelligence division by tracking media coverage and stakeholder sentiment. You will work with large volumes of data to produce real-time alerts and long-form analysis for global clients. This role focuses on identifying key trends and translating information into clear insights. You will receive mentorship and training while working alongside our analysts.
What you'll do#
- Monitor news and events across print, digital, television, radio, and social media platforms.
- Work with a team of analysts to provide timely news alerts to clients.
- Collect and prepare data to support media analysis and scheduled report deliveries.
- Assist with long-term research projects.
- Create pivot tables from Excel report data.
- Update report graphics and write descriptive text to explain data trends.
- Validate and interpret automated scoring regarding reputation risk and stakeholder views.
What you'll need#
- A bachelor's degree in any discipline, preferably in communications, journalism, economics, history, or another social science.
- Experience writing analytical reports and creating presentations.
- Solid understanding of Excel for exploratory data analysis and visualization.
- Strong interest in media, the 24/7 news cycle, and the intersection of culture, business, and politics.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and writing skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a collaborative mindset.
Location & details#
- This is a remote internship based in the United States.
- The term is Fall 2026, running from mid-September through mid-December.
- This is a paid, full-time position at $20 per hour.
- You must be available for 35 to 40 hours per week during a morning shift (6 am to 2 pm ET).
- Occasional evening shifts (5 pm to 8 pm ET) on Saturdays and Sundays are required on a rotational basis every six weeks.
