About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience supporting transportation and logistics operations at Pella Corporation. You will work alongside experienced professionals to support business initiatives and contribute to projects that improve logistics processes and operational performance. Responsibilities mirror those of entry-level supply chain professionals, providing you with meaningful work that contributes to business objectives. You will be placed on a specific team based on business needs, your educational background, and your skills.
What you'll do#
- Support transportation and logistics projects that improve efficiency, service, and business performance.
- Analyze data and processes to identify improvement opportunities.
- Assist with logistics planning, reporting, and operational initiatives.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to support transportation, logistics, and operational objectives.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts related to transportation and logistics processes.
- Contribute to project work that supports business goals and operational effectiveness.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor's degree in Logistics, Operations Management, Transportation, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Strong academic standing.
- Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, or involvement through campus organizations, work experience, athletics, or volunteer activities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with and influence others.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to learn new processes and concepts quickly.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs.
- Interest in transportation, logistics, distribution, or supply chain operations.
- Experience analyzing data and identifying process improvement opportunities is preferred.
- Experience leading projects or team efforts from planning through execution is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Pella, Iowa (on-site).
- Term: Summer 2027 (End of May through early August).
- Compensation: $23.00 per hour.
- Employment type: Full time.
- Note: This position requires a post-offer background check and drug screen. Pella is a tobacco-free work environment.
