About the role#
Partners Behavioral Healthcare is seeking a LADC Intern for our outpatient substance use disorder program in Mankato. This internship runs during the winter 2027 term. You will work alongside a Licensed Alcohol & Drug Counselor to provide addictions treatment services and gain hands-on experience in the 12 core functions of the field. This is a full-time, on-site, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Provide addictions treatment services under the guidance of a licensed counselor.
- Assist with intake, screening, and orientation procedures for new clients.
- Document assessment results, treatment plans, and progress notes in client charts.
- Observe and co-facilitate classes based on established curriculum.
- Meet weekly with the Program Manager or Treatment Director for clinical reviews.
- Coordinate with the clinical team to support case management and client needs.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 18 years of age.
- Successful completion of a Minnesota Department of Human Services background study.
- Current enrollment in an Alcohol and Drug Counseling education program at an accredited school.
- Completion of a minimum of 9 semester credits per calendar year in your program.
- Majors in Psychology, Public Health, Sociology, or Criminal Justice are preferred.
