About the role#
Partners Behavioral Healthcare is seeking a LADC Intern to join our outpatient substance use disorder program in Waite Park. This position offers hands-on experience in addictions treatment, allowing you to work alongside a Licensed Alcohol & Drug Counselor to provide clinical care. You will learn to apply theoretical and ethical principles of addiction counseling while gaining exposure to the 12 core functions of the field.
What you'll do#
- Provide addictions treatment services under the guidance of a Licensed Alcohol & Drug Counselor.
- Assist with screening, intake, orientation, and assessment processes for new clients.
- Participate in the development and review of client treatment plans.
- Co-facilitate classes and group counseling sessions.
- Maintain accurate and complete client charts and documentation.
- Coordinate with the clinical team to provide case management and crisis intervention.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Successful completion of a Minnesota DHS Background Study.
- Current enrollment in an ADC education program at an accredited school.
- Earning a minimum of 9 semester credits per calendar year toward your degree.
- Ability to maintain client confidentiality and professional ethical boundaries.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on empathy and patience.

- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, daytime hours.
