About the role#
The Division of Opportunity and Institutional Excellence (DOIE) is seeking a Student Assistant to provide administrative and creative support. This is a Federal Work Study position that requires in-person attendance at the New York campus. You will assist with daily office operations and help manage the department's digital presence.
What you'll do#
- Manage social media accounts, including posting content, sharing updates from campus partners, and running campaigns.
- Assist with the design, content creation, and distribution of the DOIE newsletter.
- Perform clerical tasks such as photocopying, printing, and shredding.
- Greet visitors and answer department-related questions.
- Answer phones and record detailed messages for staff.
- Support program planning and various department projects.
What you'll need#
- Must be Work Study Eligible.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience using Canva for design work.
- Previous experience managing social media accounts.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
Location & details#
- Location: New York, New York.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Maximum of 15 hours per week while school is in session. No hours are scheduled during summer, winter, Thanksgiving, or spring breaks.
