About the role#
The Department of General Services is looking for a Student Assistant to support the Office of Fleet and Asset Management. You will work with the Federal Surplus Property Program to learn about vendor applications, program compliance, and government property management. This is a part-time, temporary position based in Sacramento.
What you'll do#
- Review incoming applications for completeness and accuracy to ensure they meet federal surplus property program requirements.
- Maintain program documents by organizing and compiling data in federal surplus databases.
- Serve as a secondary point of contact for the front door and main phone line receptionist.
- Handle special projects and courier services in the Sacramento and West Sacramento areas using a state vehicle.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a college student at an accredited university.
- A declared major in Business Administration.
- Enrollment in at least six-semester units or nine-quarter units for undergraduate students.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- A valid California driver's license.
Location & details#
- This role is located in Sacramento, California.
- The position is on-site and requires residency in California.
- Work hours are flexible between 8 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday.
- This is a part-time position with no benefits.
